Huxley just spent like... three hours with me in Ahn'Qiraj so he could help me tame raid bosses and stuff.

He is my favorite boy! :D

Target orientation went pretty well. A lot of things have changed in the last ten years but a lot more have stayed the same. Same stuff, different people. I've gotta say that Target has got it "together" more than probably any other retail job I've ever worked, so it's nice to have that over Sears Holding's big mess.

I knew I was back for sure when they passed out employee ID numbers and mine was the exact same one I had ten years ago. Good to see they keep you on file for life, apparently!

Anyways tonight I go to bed at 7pm to be up bright and early at 3am tomorrow so we'll see how that goes.

In other news I've been looking into immigration stuff for various countries to see how Hux and I are going to go about that. The UK is a GIANT PAIN to get into, and so is Canada, surprisingly (I looked into that as a possible "neutral country" option.) So far, Hux coming to the US is looking like the best option-- which is saying a lot considering that the US is still a difficult nut to crack-- and then we'll have Ireland, which has a relatively lax immigration policy, as a backup in case the US doesn't work for whatever reason.

So yeah!

Huxley is leaving tomorrow and I am not happy about this situation :( I think I'll adjust okay after a day or so, but I am... reeeeallly not looking forward to going to the airport tomorrow xD

We're still planning on the fall visit in a couple of months, but I'll really have to kickstart my money situation for that, so I have to figure out some way to accomplish it.

Things Huxley and I have done so far in the first two weeks of our visit:

* Rolled down the windows of my car and jammed out to "Party With Pinkie" turned all the way up (this one was with Dakoda)
* Spent an entire day playing hotseat Civ IV with just breaks for food
* Spent an entire day playing Earth Defense Force with just breaks for food
* Spent an entire day playing various other games, with just breaks for food
* Visited the animal shelter and played with the cats
* Spent about a half hour digging through the Playstation 2 game bin at GameStop while the employees gave us odd looks and gently reminded us that they could look up specific titles for us (but the hunt is the best part!)

Apparently I've mentioned this everywhere except LJ, so here we go. Thanks in no small part to the surprise generosity of a friend, my wonderful boyfriend Huxley is going to come visit me in about nine days. He'll be here for a few weeks and it's going to be amazing <3

Then I'm going to go over and visit him this fall, for a total of nearly two months of blissful togetherness this year.

In other news I'm feeling pretty good about my money situation overall. My car should be all paid off in three or four months and then I can really start working on medical bills or that damned Wells Fargo credit card... probably that one because they charge some ridiculous monthly fee. I'm waiting to hear back from my Student Loans; I've submitted an application for a lack-of-money deferment and if that doesn't go through then they should at least be able to negotiate with me because I can't afford to give them freaking 30%+ of my income.

Anyways, we'll see~

Living with [livejournal.com profile] azuhuxley_daioh in a little place somewhere (preferably around here in Montana but ultimately I'm not picky), the both of us writing for a living and spending the rest of our days cuddling and playing vidya together. <3

In other news my sickness seems to be well on its way out! I stayed home from work yesterday and just let myself rest and I think that helped a lot. Also my wrist/thumb feels much better already after a regimen of wearing that wrist brace for 12 hours a day. I'll keep it up for a little while, just in case!

Hux got me an Xbox 360 + Skyrim for my birthday/Christmas.

I love that boy and I hope I get to keep him forever. <333

Huxley and I were talking about an impending visit just now. We think we'll have enough money saved up to make it happen this next Spring/Summer-- I'd fly over there to England.

Now, I've been hoping that I might be able to have some vacation time accumulated by then (seeing as I've been with Sears Holding Corporation for a year now as of this month-- Sears/Kmart being owned by the same company and all), but I looked into it and it's a painfully slow accumulation process, especially for part-timers. So I'm starting to think that a better bet might be to see if I can secure a new (hopefully better) job, quit the current one, and then spend a few weeks in England in the interim. The downside to that, of course, is that I won't be getting any sort of income during the visit, but there will still be bills to pay, so I'll have to have some extra money saved up.

But... we'll see, I guess. My hope is that work will give me a ton of hours for the holidays and then in January I can see where I'm standing, finance-wise, and then we can actually start planning a visit more seriously. If all else fails I can always get a temporary second job and work my butt off over the spring and then maybe we can plan something for later in the year.

Today is Hux's birthday! And I think it's expedient to say something because he's been my best friend for... oh gosh, I dunno, close to a decade now. And finally about five months ago we decided to take that friendship to the rather obvious next level and start dating and that was probably the best idea we ever had (aside from nuking Charlie or something, I'm sure). I'm so lucky to have him in my life and so honored to have him as a co-blogger. I love that we get excited about the same things, that we dream the same dreams, and even have the same fears that we help each other get through. Here's to what I hope is the first of many birthdays together :D

Pretty much everything!

I went to the bank today and talked to a banker in a last-ditch bid for cash and loan consolidations. I discovered two interesting things of import: a.) I can cut my car insurance down by $100 a month (so we got that ball rolling), and b.) my credit is getting confused with my dad's, which is negatively affecting my score. A lot. So I'm working on getting that sorted out as well.

I need as much cash savings as I can get because my paycheck today was ridiculously small. I was hoping for $400 (which is already much less than what I need) and got like... $340. Dem cut hours man. And I'm missing payments this month already and am getting slammed with late fees. SO YEAH.

I can't wait for insurance savings + gas savings. I just hope I get decent hours at the new job. I'll give 'em a few months to see if I can snag a full time spot. Otherwise it's back to jobhunting.

Anyways the rest of the day was spent: being tired, attempting to play Civ IV and quitting because I was tired, derping around on the internet being tired, trying to talk myself into working on "Windshifter" and failing because I was tired, and finally doing a bunch of online quizzes with Huxley for a couple of hours. Which was the most fun part of the night.

I'm still tired...

So I hate to be that person who gets all sappy and posts these things all the time but... I really love Huxley a lot! I feel so comfortable with him; it's odd to think that we've only been together for three months because it feels like much longer... like we've really been together for a while and just didn't realize it.

It's funny, because while I was with Nick, I sort of believed in the idea of "soul mates", so to speak... I figured there was one best person out there for me, and I was frequently fretting that maybe I was making a mistake and maybe Nick wasn't the right one. I wondered how I could tell who my soul mate was and if I could ever tell, or if I just had to guess. The whole conundrum kind of drove me up a wall.

...well, I don't really believe that anymore. I think any one person could fit well with a number of other people, with varying degrees of success. But gosh, I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who I felt fit me more than Hux did! He has the spirit of a dreamer, you see, and his soul has got wings that long for the skies the way mine does, and we dream such wonderful dreams together. <3

Anyways, that is all! I do apologize for the sickening saccharine sweetness coating the entry; I'll now go back to talking about video games and how poor I am and the book I've been working on for two years. Because you're all dying to hear about me talk about those things even more than I already do, right? ...right?

Hi guys!

Guys I'm going to tell you a quick story. See, Starcraft is one of my favorite games, and I've been playing it nearly since its release, so... well over a decade.

Anyhow I end up playing it a lot with friends and such because I get excited about it, and so I have played it with every boyfriend and/or almost-boyfriend that I've ever had.

So far, Huxley is the only one to beat me at it.*

I see this as a sign.

* It was the closest, most hardfought Starcraft game I've ever played. It lasted nearly three hours, we each took over half of the map and exhausted every single resource, and it was very nearly a stalemate. He won, though. This all actually occurred several years ago, well before we were dating, and I still remember it-- it was that great.

Since a couple of people have shown interest in how I wound up with a boy on the other side of the world, I figured I'd detail it here. It's probably far more boring than one might expect, but ah well! At least we'll have it for posterity even if no one reads it, right?

Also this got about ten million times longer than it was going to be originally, so read at your own risk! )

So! That is how I came to be together with a boy on the other side of the world! :3 I'm very happy about this whole situation. I'm not going to pretend it's going to be easy to sort out this whole... other-country thing, because it won't be, but I'm optimistic that we can work it out. Yeah, it'll probably take a few years. I'm willing to wait, though! He is so sweet and supportive and makes me so happy, and we have such fun together. And now that I've embarrassed him thoroughly, I'm sure, I'll leave it at that <3

Huxley: "Okay everyone, let's introduce ourselves. Tell us your name, something about yourself, and what you want to be when you grow up!"
Huxley: "I'm Jimmy, I like soccer, and I want to be a firefigher!"
Huxley: "I'm Claire, I can roll my tongue, and I want to be a doctor!"
Huxley: "My name is Arkady Alexandrovich Hobbes. I am one thousand, eight hundred, and sixty-seven days old. My eyes are replaced by cutting-edge cyberntics fitting with 20x zoom, photography and recording, vision outside the unaugmented human range deep into the UV and IR fields, X-Ray. and fitted with an on-board GUI which allows me to communicate with anyone else online at any time, to analyze anything
Huxley: I see against Wikipedia, and when I grow up I will be God."
Pike: "Also, Twilight Sparkle is my favorite Pony, and Montezuma is a cheating fiend in Civilization IV. That is all. Thank you for your time."
